About

A sweater-wearing cat dad who likes to write and edit fantastical things

Completing a book, or even a short story, is an incredible achievement. For those who want to go on to publish that story, though, the writing of it is just the beginning. As a writer, I know the pain of rejection letters, and I know the frustration of unclear, conflicting, or lacking feedback. As both a writer and an editor, I understand both the passion and vulnerability of writing and the miniscule details of the mechanics, making me especially well-suited for caring for another’s work.

A deep love of books and an education in the craft of writing

I have loved books since I was too young to remember, my love of books a folktale itself, one told by my mother at family gatherings. I have dim impressions of my mother recounting the stories of The Iliad and The Odyssey, spinning them from memory like a classical orator, and my dad reading me Treasure Island. My mother was an English teacher, and so inevitably she supported my desire to read.

My love of the written word has stuck with me into adulthood, and I now have several years of editing and writing experience, and an MA in book publishing from Portland State University.

I help shape your stories and bring your vision to life.

My goal as an editor is to help clarify the writer’s vision and polish their story into the best version of itself. Above all, my goal as an editor is communication: helping a writer to translate their thoughts into a form that others can understand.

Let my experience make your journey easier.
